Aamir Talaash fails to break SRK’s JTHJ record at Box Office

Director Reema Kagti second directorial project Talaash starring Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukherjee in leads has done wonderful collection at the Indian Box Office. But the movie has failed to smash the first day collection record of Shahrukh Khan’s recent release Jab Tak Hai Jaan at the domestic business centers. The interesting thing to note is that in 2009 Aamir Khan’s ’3 idiots’ had drawn a similar opening day collection of Rs 125 million (Rs 12.50 crore). Even Akshay Kumar’s alone release ‘Rowdy Rathore’ has done moderately better with Rs 152.5 million (Rs 15.25 crore) net on Day 1.

Late Yash Chopra last directorial business enterprise Jab Tak Hai Jaan starring Shahrukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma in leads, was released in 2,500 screens in the country on November 13 and collected Rs 15.23 cores at the domestic Box Office on the first day. Aamir Khan’s much predictable movie Talaash, which also hit 2,500 screens in the country was expected to break this record.
